The Island Recreation Board is sponsoring a youth soccer program starting Saturday, September 6, 2008 and running until October 4. Children can still be signed up. The program will be run by a professional coach provided by Major League Soccer. Practices will be Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 12:00 at the field behind Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary School. Kindergarten to grade 2 will play from 9:00 to 10:30; grades 3-5 from 10:30 to 12:00. Cost of the program is $10.00 per child, or $25.00 for 3 or more siblings. Each child will receive a t-shirt.
